Sun Tanning Tips

A great tan makes you look healthy and beautiful, but make sure to do it right. Protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. Below you will find tips for
sunless tanning, sunburn first aide and proper use of sunscreen to protect your skin while gaining a beautiful tan.

Sunless Tanning Tips

• Try the light to Medium products if you have fair skin or the Dark formula if you have darker skin.
• Before applying sunless tanners, cleanse and exfoliate skin with a soft loofah or cloth to achieve a longer-lasting, even tan and allow it to dry. Any dry
patches will absorb too much color and your tan will look uneven.
• When applying to the face, avoid spreading in or around eyes.
• Use sparingly around knees, ankles and elbows where formula can develop darker. Apply a thin even coat over your body. Using either horizontal and
vertical strokes or a circular motion.
• Use a sponge paintbrush, available at any hardware store, to apply self tanner to your back. Look for one that is from two to three inches in size.
Wash before use and let it air dry.
• When using spray products spray and blend quickly and thoroughly over one body part at a time. Do not saturate. Apply a lighter amount of sunless
tanning product to areas with thick, dry skin such as elbows, palms and knees.
• Wash hands with soap and water immediately after application.
• To tan the backs of your hands, apply with a make-up wedge in smooth even strokes being sure to blend in evenly. Tan hands and feet–If you use a self-
tanner on your hands and feet, use a make-up sponge to blend well around the fingers and toes. If you take your time in applying carefully, it will look
very natural.

• Avoid contact with clothing, fabrics, furniture, and carpet.
• Wait one hour before applying any foundation or moisturizer or before swimming or bathing.
• Reapply as needed to maintain or deepen color.

20 Simple Wrinkle Erasers

Aging of the skin is a natural process by which the collagen and elastin, that keep our skin looking firm and youthful, begin to decline, this results in wrinkles. Cell production and cell quality also diminish over time resulting in wrinkles. These factors unfortunately are out of our control, though diet and supplements can slow down the process, but it won’t stop it.

The influences that are within our control are largely environmental such as pollution (eg; smoking) and sun damage. Here are 20 easy ways to reduce wrinkles and slow down the aging process.

1.    Stop smoking (It’s #1 for a reason)
2.    Always wear sunscreen whether it’s cloudy or sunny and don’t sunbake.
3.    Hydrate your skin by drinking about 8 glasses of water a day.
4.    Use skin care products that contain antioxidants and AHA’s.
5.    Moisturize the skin on your face twice daily.
6.    Reduce stress. (Try reading, exercising, meditating) 15 minutes a day is a good start.
7.    Reduce alcohol consumption. Over indulging can put enormous strain on your system and will accelerate wrinkles forming.
8.    Eat healthily by incorporating plenty of fruits and vegetables in your daily diet.
9.    Sleep at least 8 hours every night.
10.   Eat fish three times a week. Great for the skin and general health.
11.   Check with your doctor about taking supplements, your diet may be lacking some of the important ones.
12.   Use an eye cream for the delicate skin around the eyes nightly.
13.   Facial scrubs remove the build up of dead cells that can increase the appearance of wrinkles, try this weekly.
14.   Use natural skin care products that will nourish your skin and give it lots of vitamins and minerals to help it stay fresh and healthy.
15.   Jojoba oil resembles the skins natural oils. Dab this around the eyes to keep wrinkles at bay.
16.   Take vitamin C supplements and use products that contain vitamin C, it will help boost your collagen.
17.   Start a good skin care routine in your 20’s. Prevention is easier than the cure.
18.   Honey is known worldwide for it’s beneficial abilities. Use a honey mask weekly. Simply apply the honey to your face and neck and leave for 30 minutes then rinse off. This mask will "feed" your skin with nutrients.
19.    Aloe Vera and Avocado oil both have the ability to prevent the skin from drying out; they are both used to improve the skins elasticity.
20.    A soothing way to help achieve a wrinkle-free face is to lie on your back with your knees elevated by placing a pillow or cushion beneath them.

Try this when you are watching TV or reading.

Tips for Beautiful Hair

Wash and dry your hair carefully to prevent tangles and damage. If you wash and
towel dry your hair too vigorously you’ll damage your hair before you even begin to
style! When washing your hair, use your finger tips to gently rub your scalp. Don’t
scrub. To dry your hair pat and squeeze dry with a towel.

Make sure you are using brushes which are appropriate for your hair type and your
hair length. Use brushes with rounded ends to prevent damage. Brush your hair
gently and only when necessary.

Maintain your hair with pride and consistency. Depending on the length and style,
have it trimmed appropriately. If you wear your hair short, have the style refreshed
every 3-4 weeks. If you are growing your hair longer, have it trimmed every 6-8
weeks to remove split ends.

Make sure to eat enough protein. Since the hair shaft is composed of a protein
called keratin, a diet low in protein is a triggering factor for brittle hair. You need
at least two to three daily servings of protein (tofu, soy milk, beans and peas, nuts
and nut butters) for hair that’s manageable and healthy.

How To Keep One’s Skin Beautiful

Human body is very sensitive and vulnerable. It is and has always been an easy target for an arrow, a sword or a bullet. In all the times people tried to protect their bodies as well as possible:  medieval knights had iron armor; nowadays policemen use more effective protection – flak jackets – to survive in the battle with evil.

It goes without saying that we should value these mankind inventions; at the same time, we must never forget about what nature supplied us with to resist the undesirable and dangerous influence of the environment. Skin is what I mean.

image

Though it cannot protect us from a sword or a bullet, it has always been a very effective means of defense against ultraviolet rays, heat, cold, viruses and bacteria, which constantly try to make our bodies their home for some time, and then to gradually destroy them.

Besides, skin is a multifunctional component of the human body. Thermoregulation helps us adjust to the temperature of the environment due to the widening or narrowing of blood vessels and the secretion of more or less liquids by skin’s glands. Metabolic function is realized during the gas exchange, water-salt metabolism, etc. After all, due to the skin’s sensation function we can feel the pleasure of touching.

I am pretty sure that knights took good care of their armor for it to remain strong and reliable as long as possible. We should also do our best to preserve skin “in the working order” and to make it good-looking as well.

So, to have healthy and beautiful skin it is desirable to:

avoid the sunlight, as its ultraviolet rays cause the most harmful changes in the skin structure, making it dry, wrinkled, thin and covered with age spots. They can also provoke skin cancer;
quit smoking, because nicotine is said to have the same influence on skin as sunlight;
clean and moisturize skin properly (scrubs, creams, ointments and lotions can be of great help in this case);

keep to a healthy diet with much fruit and vegetables to supply skin with all the necessary vitamins. Drinking much water helps improve its state as well;

avoid stress, because skin is like a mirror, reflecting everything that is going on in the human mind.

It is easy to take care of skin when we are young. Smooth and plump, it needs, perhaps, proper cleaning only (excluding the cases of skin diseases).

Aging, on the other hand, emphasizes the flaws in our appearance, takes away the beauty. It all results in dry, thin and wrinkled skin. This is a point, when preserving our natural body-cover beautiful takes much effort and skill to succeed.
